Chinese studies

Scope: Chinese language books, journals and newspapers are kept in the Asian Studies Research Collection. Audio-visual materials (microforms, DVDs etc) in both Chinese and English are kept in the Music and Multimedia Collection. English language materials relating to Chinese studies are spread throughout the library branches and collections including in the Rare Books Collection.  The main strengths of the collection are contemporary Chinese and Taiwanese politics and literature, the modern history of China, Chinese translation studies, etymology of the Chinese script, Chinese religions and Chinese philosophy. The collections also include detailed reference texts including dictionaries and statistics.
