Chemical engineering
Scope: The study of the branch of engineering that
is concerned with the design and construction and operation of the plant
and machinery used in industrial chemical processes. The activities of
the Department of Chemical Engineering, Monash University are aimed at
improving techniques and at understanding the phenomena in the fields
of fluid dynamics, kinetics, thermodynamics, control and reactor design
for organic and inorganic processes. Of interest are processes in which
natural resources are utilised, especially those in metallurgical, pulp
and paper, food and biochemical areas.
